Obituary for Carrie Lee Protheroe

Black and Benjamin Franklin Black Born February 8, 1938 in
Greenville, SC Passed away peacefully October 26, 2019 Carrie
was preceded in death by her husband John Protheroe. They
resided in Mooresville NC for 22 years. She was a resident of
Aldersgate Assisted Living at Parker Terrace For the past 2
years. Carrie had a big heart and was outgoing and welcoming
to anyone she met.. Also, fiercely loyal to both family and
friends. She was always a superb host. Welcoming everyone. A
true southern bell. Carrie loved to dance and was once a “jitter
bugger”, ballroom and square dancer. She was always active in
her church. A long time member of Piedmont Park Methodist
Church in Greenville SC, later St. Andrew’s Methodist Church
at Charlotte NC, then Fairview Methodist Church and finally
at Redeemers Light Methodist Church both in Mooresville NC.
Carrie had a distinguished career in banking working NCNB,
NationsBank, BofA and finally First Citizens Bank where she
retired. She is survived by her 3 children, Benjamin William
Hill (Pam), Larry Owen Hill (Sabrina), Deborah Lee Hill. 5
grandchildren, Carleena Danelle Hill, Jessica Wayne, Jennifer
Meyers, Christine Johnson and Natalie Wensil. 9 Great
grandchildren, Jayce, Noah, Jesslyn, Liam, Conner, Parker,
Banner, Lowen and Cora-Wayne. Funeral Services will be held
at Aldersgate Chapel 3800 Shamrock Drive Charlotte NC
28215 on Tuesday October 29, 2019 at 2 pm.
